GOAL: 80% PHYSICIAN STATEWIDE EHR ADOPTION

The Alliance business plan has identified the following strategies to help achieve the overriding goal of EHR adoption statewide:

1. Promote/publicize endorsed EHRs and hospital sponsored EHRs and their benefits statewide
2. Work collaboratively to promote/support the secure exchange of EHRs between authorized entities (HIE)
3. Collaborate with Alaska's Regional Extension Center for implementation and on-going EHR support
4. Encourage/ support Hospital initiatives to offer hosted EHR solutions
5. Initiate development of loan programs available for providers to purchase EHR software and hardware
6. Help for providers in navigating ARRA stimulus requirements
7. Conduit for resources that provide assistance with implementation services
8. Track, evaluate, and communicate EHR implementation successes
9. Annual report on successful movement to electronic records
10. Evaluation of a group of early adopters
